Mayo
Mayo is a municipality in Quebec (Canada) located in the Papineau Regional County Municipality (RCM) in the Outaouais administrative region.
It is named in honor of County Mayo in Ireland.
Originally, the municipality was in Papineau County. It was incorporated into the Papineau Regional County Municipality in 1983.
Twelve lakes officially named by the Commission de toponymie du Québec are located in Mayo. They are Burke Lake, Beaver Lake, Daly Lake, Dole Lake, Edith Lake, Flynn Lake, Howard Lake, Limmer Lake, Long Lake, Mémère Lake, Murphy Lake, and Stralem Lake.
The only rapids officially named by the Commission de toponymie du Québec in Mayo are Devil's Hole. The only two streams in this municipality are Buckingham Creek and Hachard Creek.
